Oğuz Anbarlı was born in Eskişehir, Turkey. He completed his master’s degree in Radio, Television, and Cinema at Maltepe University, with a thesis titled “The Short Film Production Process and Its Impact on Festival Awards.” He presented his research at the Istanbul Beyond24 Film Industry Conference and Career Space in 2018 and 2019.
His short films Pinhole (2015) and Mercan (2019) were selected for numerous national and international festivals, and later secured distribution on various VOD platforms. With his debut feature film, The Name of the Song, he continues his exploration of intimate, character driven storytelling.
In 2024, he founded Kalamar Film, a production company through which he develops both film and series projects. He currently lives and works between Eskişehir and Istanbul.
